How to apply teacher? u can use stpm / matriculation/ diploma level to apply in upu ... thr r 3 levels u need to go thru before getting a degree in education in local IPTAs. First is being selected to go to MedSi > MedSi > n then an interview with panels of judges.
My interview was on 26/5/12 ( Sunday) . My father drove me to UMS ( Universiti Malaysia Sabah) which take about 6 hours . Interview time is 9 am. I was interview in room tutorial 3 in sekolah pendidikan & pembangunan sosial, UMS
Of cuz, u hv to knock the door n greet the judges before going inside. As i was going inside, i saw 3 ppl. 1 girl 2 guys... The girl make me go thru a test which is to test if ur a colour blind.... and the 2 guys is the judges... . the girl never spoken a word during the interview
During interview , the questions they asked were (As far as i can remember):
- Based on the policies about MBMMBI, maths n science subjects should be teach in english or BM?? why??
- But u already know that the students live in interior area english is very bad.... if maths n science subjects teach in BI , it would be a burden to them
- Why must learn english as u claim so that our country will be developed country??? Look at Japan n Korea, eventhough their english is not good but they still achieve developed country status. Tell me why our country cannot be like them?
- Based on ur experience, how u learn english? u can speak well in english.
- I answered my parents bring me to library each week since young. so maybe thats why my english is good.
- If ur a teacher, how u would teach ur students about english? I answered i will try to make some group activities for them... so they can learn in a fun way... I dont want students to sleep in my class
- Then the judges answered... u think teaching english is like playground...???!!!( I forgot what he said already...something like that )
- The judges said if ur in interior areas ...then how u gona take them library since .... the pusat sumber hv limited books.... something like that la ...
- Lastly, bonus questions ...( in my opinion) ..Who is the minister of Education?? Who is the timbalan minister? who is the timbalan minister 2 of education? Wht is the full name of ketua menteri Sabah?
- I can answered the name of minister of education , timbalan minister 1 , but i cannot answered the timbalan minister 2.... I only rmb ketua menteri sabah as Musa Aman...:'(
- Lastly, he asked " do u know how to speak Mandarin?" ( in Mandarin :O ) .. then i laughed n smiled n said ya... ( cuz i interview for TESL n BC) .... They not asked me questions about "Bahasa Cina dgn Pendidikan " at all
